Ruby’s Beers, Bikes and Brats is a combination beer pub and bike sales/repair/rental shop located in Davenport Iowa. The unique pub/bike shop is the result of a collaboration between Ruben Garcia, a bicycle enthusiast and Sidney Rognoni, a restaurateur who also owns RAW, an upscale cocktail lounge with esoteric appetizers in downtown Davenport.
The pub and bike shop has an industrial interior design that fits with the raw image. It is housed in a warehouse with high ceilings and exposed ducts with concrete floors. The pub uses bike spokes as light fixtures. The front wall is comprised of large, framed windows and the walls are made of strips of wood decorated with placards and signs from brewing companies while the top is adorned with beer taps. Adding to the restaurant’s theme are bikes hanging from the ceiling. The front of the bike shop and pub is lined with bicycles for sale and an area for repairs. There is also patio seating in the front with rectangular picnic tables where guests can enjoy a brat and a beer.
Ruby and Sid turned asked our experienced sales team to help their venture become a reality by purchasing wood bench restaurant booths to fit in with the rugged interior. They ordered the wood bench with wood back and seat with padded seats in black vinyl. The booths come in natural finish which shows off the natural grain and go well with the wood walls and tables. The wood booths are handmade in the USA and the craftsmanship is evident. They also give customers much desired privacy and a comfortable place to enjoy a drink or a meal.
To go with the booths, premium solid wood plank table tops in matching natural finish and round cast iron table bases were also ordered. The premium solid wood plank table tops are also made in America and come in 1 1/2" thickness. The tables fit in well with the rustic theme and give the venue added prestige with their natural wood texture. When havinhg to choose between laminate or solid wood table tops, ehile price can be an important factor, the end result can be quite different. Laminate can be made to look like wood or stone or any other material but in a location where wood is an integral part of the decor, fron the wall panels all the way to the seating, then nothing can compare with natural solid wood to complete the design to perfection.
For bar seating Sid added clear coat ladder back metal bar stools with padded seats in black vinyl upholstery. The bar stools were not supplied by us, but we do have ladder back bar stools in a selection of frame finishes and seat options. The ladder-back design is popular with bars, restaurants and pubs across America. They also fit in well with the industrial decor style and the wood planked bar. They seem to be a perfect fit for this type of venue which brings together bike and beer enthusiasts.
